AA rep returned my call within the 4 hour window and changed our flight to the 5:45am GSO-CLT-DFW-EGE. We may have to run to connect in CLT but we got some practice running in SEA on a return from an Alaska trip last summer. The aircraft door almost hit hubby in the butt, lol.
The rep mentioned something about the market in the GSO area was the reason for the change.
I have found AA to be particularly good in solving these types of problem, especially when I have a set of flights in hand. I may have even pushed the envelope on some of the flight changes to more favorable flights than what I was originally booked on.
