I've scanned the threads and read and re-read the AA advisory, but still unclear about how loyalty points accrue for codeshare flights. For instance, if I book a round trip on BA.com for LAX to MAD in which all flights have BA flight numbers, but the LAX-LHR and LHR-LAX legs are on AA metal, are the loyalty points for the LAX-LHR and LHR-LAX legs based on actual mileage multiplied by your elite status multiplier or incremental cost of the AA metal legs multiplied by elite status multiplier. AA.com appears to favor the former, while some of the threads favor the later. Any advice or experience is greatly appreciated.
