They key word is
may. Airlines are going to still vet candidates as part of the hiring process. They aren't likely to hire a guy who has bounced around, with or without a degree.
I don't expect this is going to dramatically change their hiring. It just means that good quality candidates that don't have degrees aren't automatically rejected.
