erik, I am a true believer in Copa due to their reliable and pain-free hub experience in PTY. I offerred the SAL lounge thing as a desperate measure to help the OP make a choice Their (COPA and AV) routings and soft and hard product are, as I recognized from the outset, so very very similar. This debate really comes down to extremely minor details. All things considered without hiccups, I would rate both experiences the exact same. But the security of the COPA service would perhaps sway me to COPA, as you suggest.
