Combining Domestic Business and Flex Fares in one PNR
I'm about to book our hopeful late July trip. Our domestic itinerary is:
Sat 23-Jul-22 SYD-CNS in Business QF922 0930-1235
Thursday 28-Jul-22 CNS-MEL in Business QF703 1435-1705
Friday 29-Jul-22 MEL-ADL in Business QF691 1645-1735
Friday 29-Jul-22 ADL-KGC in Flex (No business available) QF2144 1855-1930
Wednesday 03-Aug-22 KGC-ADL in Flex (No Business available) QF2143 0940-1020
Wednesday 03-Aug-22 ADL-MEL in Business QF682 1105-1255
Note - MEL-ADL-KGC and KGC-ADL-MEL are going to be straight shots for us. I'm only booking them as separate legs since that's the only way to get business on the MEL legs.
1. Since different fare rules apply to the Flex and Business fares, regarding refundability, will the Flex rules apply for the entire itinerary, or only those legs? In other words, if we have to outright cancel, would we still get a full refund for the 4 Business flights? (I'm used to United where the lowest fare class for the entire trip dictates the entire trip, but I know QF is a lot nicer that UA).
2. Is there any benefit / disadvantage to booking this as one continuous trip, or breaking it down into 2, First SYD-CNS, CNS-MEL, and the second MEL-ADL-KGC, KGC-ADL-MEL? Our flight CNS-MEL arrives at about 5:00pm and our departure to ADL isn't until about 4:45pm the following day, so a mis-connect isn't something I would be concerned with.
Thanks in advance all
