Thanks! My name is not common at all. I am 99.999% certain I was the only person with my last name on that flight. Could that have to do with the fact that I have more than one nationality? I asked her, "Is it because I have more than one passport?" but she seemed very unconvinced when she said, "Maybe..." I know for a fact that she read my name, because when she scanned my BP the first time she did wish me "Have a good flight, tosaerba." It was also definitely me that was (supposedly not) on the passenger list when she came onto the bus, because again she called me by name.

I just hope this won't cause me any problem, especially as I'm flying with BA stateside for a long-awaited NYC holiday soon! And when it comes to transatlantic travel you start to be paranoid.

The other funny thing (perhaps just a coincidence) is that right ahead of me there was a dude who was flying to Lebanon but was at the wrong gate: when his BP was scanned he obviously was rejected and was told to go next door. Could this incident be part of the explanation?

(And yes, I'm very good looking! :P)

Edit: I can't remember if I changed my details before or after this flight, but my API details on my BA account used to have my Swiss passport (which I only changed to my British one in preparation for my US trip), whereas I was traveling on my UK one. Could the mismatch between my API information and the passport in use explain the incident?
