EU261 Claim

Hello, I've long looked to flyertalk as a resource but never needed to post anything until now... I wanted to get some feedback on my situation.

I'm currently sitting in Munich because I missed my connection due to a delay in the previous flight.

I was flying out of Montreal January 9 on LH475 to Munich and the departure was delayed by over 2 hours due to the incoming LH474 being late. LH474 departed Munich over 2 hours late as well. The pilot said this was due to bad weather in Munich, but no other Lufthansa flights departing in the same timeframe as LH474 were delayed and the weather in Munich at that time appears to have been okay. The weather in Montreal was also not an issue.

I was supposed to take LH1636 to Poznan which was to depart at 1125 (arrive 1240) but LH475 arrived at 1118. Lufthansa sent me a rebooking email at 1115 which rerouted me through Frankfurt and will result in me arriving in Poznan at 2230. So I'll be arriving 9 hours and 50 minutes later.

I've never submitted a claim before, but from what I've read on EU261 in my significant wait time here in Munich, it seems I'm due compensation of 600€ due to my missed connection and arrival at my destination over 3 hours later than originally booked on a journey of greater than 3500 km. I'm sure they will try, but I don't see how Lufthansa can claim extraordinary circumstances in this case.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
