If only you and wife are on the upgrade list, it sounds like they were purchased separately and mother and father tickets have not been properly linked to yours (assuming they have checked in -- you don't appear on upgrade lists until you actually check in). If you and wife are on same reservation, they will need to be split as you can each only upgrade one companion and you must be on separate reservations to do this. When you are not on the same reservation as companion, you can be upgraded independently of your companion. There is no way combine tickets on a single reservation if they were purchased separately in the first place.

As noted above, people do not appear on upgrade list until they check-in. So you can likely expect the list to grow as people check-in for flight (and you will be moved down the list by people who have higher upgrade priority than you).
