Double Dipping Question
Do we no longer get 500 points for Conrad and Hilton stays?
WARNING: Double dipping - from 1 Jul 04, default to points & variable miles!!!
It's July 1st -- Don't forget to check your earnings style...
Here's the original thread that discussed the change:

I had forgotten this, but if you had previously chosen the option for 50% bonus points instead of airline miles your default stayed that way.
But look at this specific message:

From the fine print: Please note if you have currently selected Points and Fixed Miles inside your HHonors Account Profile as your Earning Style and your current Preferred Airline Partner participates in the Points and Variable Miles option, your Earning Style will be defaulted to Points and Variable Miles beginning July 1, 2004
In some jurisdictions this is similar to "Negative Billing" where action is required by the customer/subscriber to prevent an undesired option from executing.
Note that points and fixed miles was originally the default (or only option) for all members. You had to be aware of the change to opt out.
As far as getting retroactive credit for the option you really wanted -- it probably falls under the "We can change the plan any time we want to" clause.
