You should be able to just cancel and re-book. We do this all the time and we've never really had a problem, but we recommend:

1. Doing it ASAP as rates can change at anytime.
2. Re-check pricing right before canceling to re-confirm the price for the number of seats you need.
3. Re-book right after canceling--your travel bank credit should be available immediately.
