Maybe about as dumb as a thread with 250+ posts in under a week where this is almost exclusively the discussion? I mean, one comes to this thread, hears they get reimbursed, and so presumably they expect that maybe its supposed to be reimbursed.

I think the prophesizing and doomsaying isn't particularly beneficial for this thread but I just wanted to (politely) point out some of the hypocrisy there.
Yup - this.
My theory, already mentioned in the UA forum thread, is that either Amex knows about it and doesn't care, they know about it and its on a list of fixes already, though its not high priority and will be done when its done..maybe tomorrow, maybe in 5 years, or the coding is the same as other items that are reimbursable, and it's more beneficial to Amex to leave it as is if they can't 'separate' these different items.
I'd also guess Amex does audit the kind of charges these credits (credits in general) are being automatically applied against, if for no other reason to ensure that it's crediting what its supposed to, and not crediting things its not supposed to, and so they are either letting this go, or are looking at options they have to fix it without breaking other stuff. Highly doubt one question about it to a lower level CS rep is going to change anything about it.
This is pretty much the only purpose for the travel bank. Still no meter movement here from 1/3 purchases.
Huh? For you maybe.
TB has been used for multiple purposes in the past - I've definitely given at least some of the history of what it's done in the past. Maybe its the only purpose
for you, but things like TB aren't necessarily used the same by all users. In the past, it's served as a gift registry for us, but I don't expect that's the case for everyone. It's served me for other CC benefits in the past as well (one year, we purchased TB funds on my wife's card to get her spend up to hit PQD waiver, for example). To say it's the only use for TB is pretty ridiculous. If it's the only use for you, that's completely different.

Yes, I've used credit consistently, though last time was the fall. There was a glitch at some point where it wasn't showing on itineraries that it should work for in cases where there was no consensus on what caused it. I think there is still a link on the 'new' payment page to link to the 'legacy' payment page if an option wasn't showing up. Initially, the new payment page never showed a TB option and required the legacy page.

If Amex wanted to close it, and it was high priority enough, they would. They likely have people on FT at some level looking at threads - it's not like Flyertalk is some private board that Amex employees don't have access to. Again, one guy asking about it isn't going to change anything.

Yes. I have a transaction on Dec. 26 that credited, and posted as 5x airfare.
