Happy New Years all! I'm leaving my home airport on Friday at 7:30 a.m. flight arriving in MIA at 11:00 a.m. I'm taking my luggage to my hotel and then leaving the next morning, Saturday at 10:45 a.m. on an international flight.

I want to avoid the long lines the next morning at check-in because it is an international flight and COVID documents need to be reviewed. Can I, upon landing in MIA Friday morning, check-in for my flight the next morning but still keep my luggage? I'm trying to avoid the long lines on Saturday morning since it's an international flight and COVID documents need to be checked. Ideally, I'd like to just drop off the luggage and head thru security if possible I don't want to leave my luggage with the airline as I"m afraid it'll get lost since its a long layover.
