Anyone may apply for the standalone TSA Precheck program.

My suggestion: Now, apply for the standalone TSA Precheck program - presumably your application will be accepted, and you'll be given a TSA Precheck KTN. Wait until much closer to your GE expiration date and then submit a renewal application for GE. If GE renewal works, fine. If not, just start using your new TSA Precheck KTN instead of your GE KTN in your airline reservations.
Thank for this great advice! If I apply and get approved for TSA Precheck, am I able to continue use my current KTN (GE + KTN) until the expiration this August? Just want to make sure new KTN doesn’t “cancel” out the current KTN I have associated with upcoming travels.
