This could mean
-- a "group" has brought out the rest of the flight (groups trend not to get seat assignments ahead of time)
-- UA is considering, but not yet decided, a cancellation for those two days

On the 22nd there is a latter MSP-IAH, UA 6017, at 3:47PM you could be rebooked to when plenty of availablity.

If you original UA6043 is formally cancelled, you can ask to be rebooked to UA6017, but until formally cancelled UA may decline the change (unless award space exists today)

Unfortunately this is a wait and monitor situation

Assuming the original ticket was the same price you should be able to make that change at no cost.

You mentioned staying at an airport hotel. There's only one hotel physically connected to the airport, but there are plenty a short ride away that market themselves as 'airport hotels'. Check ahead and make sure they offer some kind of shuttle or you'll have to uber/taxi to get to your hotel. I don't know what you're plans are for that night in Houston. The food options by the airport aren't the most impressive, but there are some decent spots. If you don't want to uber somewhere for dinner you may be better off eating dinner at one of the airport restaurants before heading to the hotel. Don't be afraid to shuffle between terminals. There is an above ground train that connects all terminals at IAH post security and a below ground train that connects all terminals and the airport Marriott pre-security.
Ok I think I found those directions online. I'll work on that asap.

As for hotel, we are booked at Hilton Garden Inn - it says it has a shuttle, and I have gold status there so at least a free meal. Hmm but now that you mention the Marriot maybe I can use a certificate there instead. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the tip - I have some lounge access that maybe I can use before we leave.

One more question - as we are in a layover situation - will our checked bags be checked through to ACA or will we have to collect them for the overnight?
