If you have booked but your seats aren't showing up and you want the peace of mind, you should be able to change to the slightly later flight now, before a cancellation is announced and beat the rush of others trying to rebook. As someone that lives here, Houston is a wonderful city, but I doubt your trip will be impacted that much from 2 less hours of layover in our fair city.
Yes they are booked. I have a confirmation number and it indicates it was ticketed at the same time I purchased on Monday afternoon. I have also chosen our seats.
The only reason this even came up to my attention was I was wanting to check if the price dropped since I got stuck paying more after waiting for the card approval so I would qualify for free bags.
We really want to keep the 5:00 pm arrival in IAH, if possible. We have an airport hotel booked for the night. I see your point. I guess we think that over and see if it makes a difference - didn't really think about the rush
