Is this different BA flight on the same booking?
If so; it is not uncommon for the rebooking engine to not pick this up right away and to have an earlier flight rebooked 'out of order'. Therefore after a few days it should fix itself but you can call in and have it changed if you know which flights you want. If they are separate bookings however then unfortunately you cannot move this 'different flight'.
To that end, you say you found a Qatar flight that works but as you are in WTP there is no equivalent cabin. Unfortunately from Dubai you cannot be rebooked onto QR as the policy, update 20 says:
To/From
ANY cancelled British Airways Longhaul service
Exceptions:
DXB/AUH have been REVOKED from this guideline.
I'd also say; depending on when the actual flight is a lot can change between now and then. The rebooking policy might change to allow QR, borders might close and you are sitting on a ticket which will allow a free cancellation or flexible booking within validity. If it is a long way off I'd sit tight now!
