The fact that no lower buckets have been released, is frustrating, but I suppose its how BA will try and claw back lost revenue.

I'll set alerts for when the prices lower.

I’ve just booked a return to BGI for March this year. Admittedly nothing like Christmas/New Year, but it does coincide with the West Indies vs England test matches and demand is clearly high (for accommodation as well as flights).

Return in J from LHR was about £2300. I looked at starting in various other locations and found JER-LHR-BGI return for £1600 (picking up the exact same flights to/from LHR) which I jumped on! Ex-DUB was even cheaper still, but JER works better for me.

Some of the saving is obviously APD, but I also now have the longhaul legs in I class, whereas only J class was available on one leg of the direct LHR flights. I know it’s well-trodden ground here, but definitely worth having a look at alternative starting points.
