Also, upgrades are a stated benefit for participating Design Hotels, but experiences are varied (even more so than the main brands). Late checkout is also a benefit, but subject to availability rather than guaranteed.

Definitely read the FAQs here very carefully. Design Hotels have a ton of "gotchas" when it comes to Bonvoy points and benefits.

No. Only Partner Stays at Design Hotels™ member hotels that are Marriott Bonvoy Partner Hotels booked through an official Marriott reservation channel are eligible for elite night credits and benefits.
Did you book this hotel directly though Marriott or directly though the hotel website? The hotel website doesn't count. However, if you booked directly with Marriott, you should be getting the points.
