1. It's 1963 and you need to travel from Port of Spain in the Caribbean to Atlanta. You've found a convenient schedule involving two airlines with a departure first thing in the morning out of POS. This flight will make two intermediate stops en route to the connecting airport where you'll have a leisurely two hours and 45 minutes to connect. Your second flight will make one intermediate stop en route and you'll arrive into ATL in time for dinner with friends. The same basic aircraft type will be operated on both flights. Identify both airlines, the two stops made by the first flight, the connecting airport, the stop made by the second flight and the equipment.

2. Now it's 1968. You've just completed a project assignment in Phoenix as a consultant. So it's time for a sailing adventure with your old buddy who just happens to have his catamaran moored in Tahiti. So you're off to Papeete via an itinerary involving two airlines. Your first flight from PHX will make one intermediate stop en route to your connecting airport where you'll have one hour and ten minutes to connect. Your second flight will also make one intermediate stop en route to PPT. Different aircraft types will be operated on each flight. Name both air carriers, the connecting airport, the stop made by each respective flight and the different equipment. It was Aeronaves de Mexico operating a DC9 from PHX to MEX connecting to a Qantas 707 with the QF flight making a stop at ACA en route to PPT. So all we need here is the correct stop between PHX and MEX as it wasn't Hermosillo or La Paz.

5. It's 1980 and you've just stepped off a sailboat at the marina located adjacent to the old town section of San Juan. You will now travel to Munich. And this will be a fun trip as you will be picking up a brand new BMW at the car manufacturer's plant in Munich, the BMW Welt, and then embarking on a road trip to Austria, Switzerland and France. Two airlines will be involved with your journey from SJU to MUC with both operating nonstop flights with aircraft built by different manufacturers. You'll also have just under two and one half hours to make your connection. Identify both air carriers, the connecting airport and the different aircraft types. It wasn't Lufthansa connecting to Hapag-Lloyd at FRA or TWA connecting to Lufthansa at JFK or Iberia connecting to Spantax at Madrid and the aircraft types we are looking for do not include the B747-200, BAC One-Eleven, L-1011, DC-10 or B737-200. The flight from San Juan was operated with a DC-8.

6. Now it's 1985 and you are on your way from Denver to Sarasota. And, of course, you're up in the front cabin. Your daily flight will make two stops en route and a snack followed by dinner will be served. Name the airline, both stops and the equipment.

8. It's 1994 and you are in Vancouver preparing to depart to Philadelphia on board a daily flight which makes two stops en route. You'll be served breakfast, lunch and dinner during your journey from YVR to PHL. Name the airline, both stops and the equipment. ANSWERED

The next two quiz items both have a time line of 2005.....

9. You are in Newport Beach where you've just inspected a sailboat that's for sale. The vessel is in excellent condition and you're ready to do the deal. And then you are told you'll need to meet personally with the owner in order to consummate the sale. So where is the owner, you ask. "Boston." You quickly discover there is a direct flight from John Wayne Airport to Boston which operates six days a week and makes two stops en route. Identify the air carrier, both stops and the aircraft. ANSWERED

10. What a lovely visit to Maui! Sailing, snorkeling, hiking, biking....you've had a grand time with old friends who live in upcountry Kula on the side of Haleakala. And then the phone rings on a beautiful morning as you are sipping your coffee while watching aircraft arrive and depart from the Kahului Airport far below in the valley. Can you be in Portland, Oregon for a meeting first thing tomorrow morning? Well, here you go again....and you seem to recall that Hawaiian Airlines operates an afternoon departure from OGG to PDX featuring nonstop Boeing 767-300 service. A quick check of schedules reveals HA indeed does so.....however, this service only operates three days a week and today is not one of those days. So you are going to have to make a connection and two air carriers operating different aircraft types will be involved with your journey. The good news is first class is available on both nonstop flights and you'll make a quick connection between the two airlines with this connecting interval being just two minutes more than than the published minimum interline connecting time at the airport in question. Name both air carriers, the connecting airport and the different equipment. It wasn't Hawaiian connecting to Northwest, the connection was not made at HNL and the equipment operated on the flights in question did not include the B717-200 or B757-300
And we are making excellent progress here.....
