I tried the link above. Every option on the dropdown subject menu above leads to "Good news - you can manage this request online". I even tried name/gender change sub-menu and even that option has no place to write/explain the issue. It's fill in the box only and upload doc. All other sub-menu options take you back to FAQ.
Following this path I was able to get to a page where you can write/explain the issue:
AA.com > Contact American > AAdvantage Account Service > Email AAdvantage Account Service
From the drop down boxes I selected AAdvantage Account Service then Mileage Credit (Other Airlines). The blue box below does pop up with the "good news, you can manage this request online" stuff, but if I just click 'Next' it takes me to the next page where I confirm my name and account info, and there's also a comments box and space to upload any necessary docs.
