2021/12/28 Update
We are IHG Platinum Ambassador.
I booked 5 nights using IHG points "1 KIng Bed Pool View" room.
Before arrival, I emailed the concierge and requested for 2 Queen beds on the ground floor, in a quiet area.
When we arrived, apparently we were told we got "upgraded" to a 2 Queen pool view.
The room number was 3116 and we loved it. Room and bathroom was very spacious, but no bath tub. It faced a quiet pool which is not the main pool. The rooms opposite from us, "Odd" numbers like 3117 as an example, are the ocean facing rooms with beach/reef access on the ground floor.
There is no Club Lounge access at this hotel. At least we couldn't tell if there is one.
Instead, we had a mini bar which was replenished free daily; 2 small beer bottles and 2 small sodas cans. (Not the usual American sized cans or bottles), and I think you can get it replenished 2 times per day without getting charged extra for it. Pls check this if you want to be certain.
The IC Amb resort credit is a measly USD20.00 per stay. Make sure you check your final bill for that since the front desk person who checked me out didn't see it on my folio and added it later. Also, this credit does not cover "tips" of a regular food bill.
Hotel beach is really small. The sand is not powdery and is rough on the feet. I didn't like the beach here.
There are at least 3 or 4 sections of the front reef area which had metal stairways directly into the ocean for snorkeling. Note, the right side of the resort borders a marina which has quite a bit of boat traffic.
Overall, we still preferred this IC Cozumel resort, when compared to the IC Cancun resort location which we stayed 3 nights after Cozumel. (Pls see my mini review on FT in the IC Cancun resort master thread)
