After a BA flight cancellation I’ve been rebooked to Cathay HKG - LHR.
I live in Shenzhen and am now hoping to avail of the Shekou Pier - Hong Kong Airport ferry.

So what's the question regarding the ferry? I have taken it many times in the past, though not during covid times. You have to book tickets in advance since now they have only 2 sailings per day. Then you check-in at the SheKou cruise terminal where you will be issued boarding passes and bags will be checked. You then exit Chinese immigration and sail to HKG SkyPier. No Hong Kong entry/exit formalities are conducted and you are directly at the flight departure gates
You have to adhere to the rules about COVID tests and such for the ferry, but it works.
