Just put your Aeroplan freq flyer number in the UA reservation. Easy peasy. Will need to be an eligible fare booking class (~bucket).

¥ Miles flown in Basic Economy booking class N on all eligible United flights do not count as Status Qualifying Miles for Aeroplan Elite Status.
