Hello there,
maybe this is a newbie question and you'll make fun of me 😄, but I'll shoot anyway.
Is there a way of booking a (short-haul) flight with LH in C/D/J/Z directly on their website?
Question is mainly for the short-haul where I have most flights, but it's interesting to know for long-haul also.
It appears you may only make a booking in P, regardless if it's in business flex or business saver.
I know very well that you get J for short-haul when booking an F.
But
a) I don't understand the rules of getting a D instead of a P sometimes.
And
b) is there any other way to get a J?
I got rebooked in J after one of my P flight segments was canceled.
But when another segment was canceled and I got rebooked through the same channel (LHCC) ticket was re-issued still in P.
And the operator said the flight will still be credited in P, because of the original booking. I find it hard to believe. I will know in 3 weeks, after completing the long-haul flight.
When I qualified for SEN in '21, I called LHCC and asked for a bump from P to D. It worked and I got my additional status miles & everything.
FYI, to bump DUS-MUC-FRA-PMI from P to D it cost me 150€, whereas the original ticket price was ~520€. Reasonable and done.
It was a very efficient way of earning way more miles, as I was running out of time.
Trying to bump my partner flight CDG-FRA-BOG from P to D I was asked.... ~4700€. Obviously a bummer. The ticked was a quarter of that.
Also, I booked a flight in Business with LX, PMI-ZRH-DUS which was booked in D instead of P!
I can't figure it out why.
There must be a logic into it, maybe someone is able to enlighten me.
thanks,
Stefan
