We stayed in the basic 1 bedroom suite from Dec 23-26 on points (33k/night). Experience very similar to the previous poster.

Zero globalist recognition at check-in "thank you for being a Hyatt member", although I think that is more associated with the new staff than hotel policies. Front desk checked to see if any upgraded rooms were available when prompted, but due to the holiday period they were supposedly fully booked.

Room was well appointed and everything worked. Appreciated the full dining table for 4. The views into the valley were spectacular. Buffet breakfast was one of the best I have had in any American hotel. Hands down. Due to a sick child, I had to haggle everyday to be able to get take-out buffet. Each day the host would say they aren't allowed to do takeout when it's busy.

Ski valet worked well, as did valet parking although the parking valet was not proactive with clearing cars during storms, so wait time to get a car was over 2 hours. I came down and talked to valet at 6 am on our day of checkout and the car was waiting right in front when we were ready. Wish the TVs had chrome cast like many Hyatts have now, but was able to plug a laptop into the HDMI and stream at full speed on wifi.

Was very surprised to have full, proactive maid service and turndown service. So used to cleaning only on request and availability during the pandemic.

At checkout the bill for 3 nights showed nearly $2700. The front desk staff apologized and said someone had put the wrong internal account number in. 15 seconds later a bill for $13 was presented.

We would have stayed longer if we could on points, but we were quoted $900+ tax per night to keep our room. We moved to the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe until roads cleared up. We were lucky to be heading back to LA, as 50 east was easy. Took about 1 hour to each Carson city, then another 8 from there to LA on clear roads.
