Guess I’ll never know. Only reason I booked was QR had a good one-way business fare while others were charging punitively for one-ways. But now both BA and VS are also doing the same with fares at ZAR 25k / GBP £1200 , so have booked a direct flight this weekend instead.

Probably worth popping into JNB if you are nearby to see if they are physically checking people in, a day or two before your flight. What did you think about getting a refund on QR and booking on BA? BA are flying right?
