you didn't use points to pay for the hotel, but expect whatever the last minute price of points for the night be given to you as compensation? And because you had 2 rooms you thought you should get even more? That seems over the top to me, but that's just my opinion. You stated you feel otherwise. Just a different view here.

I agree with fwfdan; you're lucky you made a mistake not cancelling Embassy Suites. That saved your bacon. Not agreeing to stay in a room where you're one over the stated occupancy for one night because it is "insulting and dangerous" seems a little dramatic TBH. They could have put a rollaway bed in for you one night and given you compensation.

Curious: Did you discover your reservation you forgot to cancel with Embassy Suites before or after you found all their efforts unacceptable?
90k points given to you on a stay you didn't even use points to pay with seems plenty of a decent gesture.
I'm sure the connecting room guarantee failure was frustrating. As a parent of college age and littler ones, I'd have simply split up the parents among the rooms and been sure the college kid and the parent in that room had separate rooms.

Again, happy you got to avoid being charged twice for the situation; but I don't think you need more compensation at all.
