you have say SEA-DCA and say SEA-LAX using the same plane and leaving around the same time. You could just switch planes and crew in the routing.
not that simple; duty time limitations (both flight crew and cabin crew) are a significant issue (SEA-LAX is ~3 hrs; SEA-DCA is ~6 hrs)
