In between the joshing, though, you guys did explain it well and now I'm somewhat intrigued. As someone whose experience with Alaska was primarily on dash8s plus a few longer Boeing legs, I had no idea they had Airbus in their fleet. Off to wiki to see how that came about...
Edit: well, that was somewhat less interesting than I imagined - they indeed weren't flying any Airbus when I lived out west, and they'll only be doing so until the leases expire on their Virgin acquisitions. I think I expected some juicy NW drama!
Thanks to all who responded, even those who erroneously thought that my flight was cancelled! Good news after all, AS did give me a $400 credit for the "inconvenience" of the delayed flight, to be used within one year.
