Your thinking is not uncommon, but there has to be SFO-IST-NAV award space available today. You aren't just changing destination, but effectively cancelling one itinerary and booking an entirely new one.

And FWIW, TK has a monopoly on SFO-NAV while it has competition on SFO-ADB. It's not about the domestic route but the start to end itinerary.
