Surprisingly, I never got an email about the Adobe and wireless credits. I did get an email about my Dell credits.
I personally wouldn't hesitate then to use the airline credit on United immediately. If you're buying TB that will post right away so you can still get the credit for 2021.
I might be totally wrong on this, but my personal assumption for those that didn't get the credit for buying UA TB immediately after selecting the airline and keep touting that there is a need to wait 24 hours, is that there was something else going on that prevented the credit from happening such as not having received the email confirming united as the selected airline or thinking they chose united but really they have another airline selected out something else.
As the above poster noted, even when he made purchases prior to selecting but then made the selection while the charges were still pending and got the credit just proves that essentially there is no need to wait 24 hours.
