On Friday, I submitted a request to combine my wife's and my points to stave off expiration. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this idea, and they may be even more swamped. I'm a bit worried it won't complete by 12/31 and the points will expire first. I'll call next week if it hasn't occurred yet.
Data point for future reference:
The point combination has not been processed, the Twitter team cannot see the form in the system, but cannot confirm that it hasn't been received, either. Only noted that it could take 4 weeks. When I asked if the points could expire while waiting for the combination to be processed, they suggested buying points, so I guess the answer to that is "yes."
