MSP sometimes has had M&S all-season tires on rental vehicles with the indication on the tire sides. So you could try to go around and pick vehicles on that basis. Not sure if some M&S tires can be “summer” tires, but I don’t find M&S all-season tires to work for my typical winter driving as well as dedicated winter tires; but M&S is better than most run-of-the-mill all-season tires and is the next best thing to quality winter tires and can be a lot quicker to find in a rental lot than playing tire tread inspector.
