jrl767 is on Alaska (he previously noted this upthread, mentioning his upgrade cleared on AS and he also noted that he woke up to a text from Alaska about the flight cancelation). Who AS will rebook him on is another matter. AS is now a OneWorld partner with AA so my guess is that would be AS's top choice for rebooking if AS couldn't keep jrl767 on AS metal all the way or even part of the way. Since DL and AS are no longer partners, I'm not sure how willing AS is to rebook Weather IROPS reroutes onto DL.

If you really want to travel, can you just rebook yourself onto those DL seats before they disappear and deal with refunds and customer service gestures later? I'd do it, especially since MSN is so much closer to where you're going.
That'd be one option I'd seriously consider too. Just do "Trip in Vain", get the refund, and book the other option. If one even has trip insurance, one might even claim the difference in fare in a trip insurance claim too. (The one caveat here is jrl767 did note having a rental car in MKE which could be a potential hiccup in that option depending on rental car rates and/or changing the reservation and/or the return flight to all line up)
