Agree but LM is just a touch closer to the royal buildings in the inner city. I really liked the ease of access from LM. Basically you walk across the street and then you are in the heart of much of what you want to see. Is it a lot closer? No, the Imperial is a few blocks further away - but in the depth of winter, those few blocks could make a difference. It depends on how much you plan to sightsee and how much you plan to be cozy at the hotel. Certainly the public spaces at the Imperial are more appealing than LM.
