If you are connecting AA to AA, there should be no problem. The security post at MCI handles three or four AA gates. The AC is within that sterile area. If you are connecting AA to another airline, you will have to leave/clear security. The MCI AC is fairly small, but nice (with the kind of warm service one has come to expect at ACs). Even the sandwiches sold there are tasty.
