On your Amex account online you can open up a pending charge and have it email you an alert if and when the charge actually posts. I do this whenever anything odd pops up as "pending" -- 99.9% of the time, the preauth just falls off.
We'll find out then...I can't understand why there was no "upcoming rental" email or text, and why I can't find this 12/24 one-day rental anywhere in my account today...
Have National's policies on failed-to-cancel changed over the years?
