The U space calculations are really funny this week. Maybe the weather and other issues are pausing how U is let out. Saw U7 on a KOA-SEA this week, and was able to help friends with a KOA-SAN flight. But my KOA-PDX is J7 in EF and 10 open seats, but no U! (My wife and kiddo without status are on a companion fare I’d love to GGU.) Has anyone had luck inquiring at the gate about using GGU once under gate control?
It's definitely possible, but I don't know if the current behavior of the UG system will remain post January 2021. I was able to upgrade my mom at ~T-60 minutes, just after dropping her off, on a Hawaii-bound flight as the last FC seat went U=1. I quickly logged into her reservation, clicked
MVP Gold Guest Upgrade and applied my GGU code. 🤙🏻🍹
