I wonder how long UA plan to keep their 757 fleet, now that AA have retired theirs? They certainly look rather retro on the inside, but great that you have the chance to fly them regularly still; we no longer have that joy in Europe. The less said about UA and particularly DL’s inflight catering the better - and that AA Flagship First service is dreadful!
I wasn’t aware that you could use domestic lounges as arrivals lounges in the US; the Amex Centurion lounge in Concourse C at DEN looks pretty smart - the catering notably so for a domestic lounge. It was nice to see AA Flagship First Dining make an appearance towards the end of the report!
The JW Marriott seems a little bland, and there’s no excuse for the cleanliness failures. Removing useful items from the room and reducing housekeeping is not really on for a 5-star property. The properties you stayed in along the road from California to Colorado all looked reasonable for what they were.
Thanks as always for sharing, and looking forward to the remainder of this read - and hopefully seeing your new house!
Thanks so much
Genius1 for reading this report and for all your comments. While I enjoy apartment living and all the nearby restos,
Mrs. SFO777 is getting really tired of apartment living. But the end is in sight as we bought a home in the sleepy foothills southwest of Denver. We're doing some renovating so we probably won't move in until February.
Indeed US domestic lounge access is on departure and same day arrival, so pretty generous as long as you have the right status or credit card to get in.
American Flagship First is indeed pathetic even now that they've brought back real glassware. But in true AA style, they've been slow to reopen the FL and First Dining at LAX and DFW and there are recent reports of MIA running out of and not restocking the nice wines. Hopefully, they get their act together by March when I'm flying AA and BA First to/from a weekend in Copenhagen. It's basically a cheap TP/BA segment run as July BAEC members are getting the shaft again this year.
