Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked deluxe king with Chase IHG free night certificate, upgraded to junior suite (promised by reservation manager previously) at T-72.

How are the rooms?
High-ish floor but on the side of the hotel, which provides up-close view of ugly roof-tops of Taipei. The room felt larger than it is (65 sqm) and did provide an "at-home" atmosphere despite just 15% larger than the premier room. The room was spotlessly clean (probably due to my complain last time). The bed was comfortable, the amenities are the same as the executive floor (more fabric less plastic), plenty of power/USB outlets. Wi-Fi was still unencrypted but fast enough to support simultaneous Teams calls.

How is the exec. lounge?
No access (requires Regent's own membership)

What was good and what was bad?
Good: member recognition, excellent service, solid COVID protocols, solid improvements on room cleanness.
Bad: room and amenity felt dated
Ugly: the breakfast buffet was a zoo (one with great mask-compliance nonetheless)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Used a certificate (which itself was a duplicate of the 2020 certificate) for a room that costs $520 so great value. For someone visiting Taipei, I would recommend hotels with more modern room and amenity unless married to IHG.
