OK, so what I'm reading into this situation is that there is a structural issue with Sundays, they have barely enough staff to run the show at weekends and zero goodwill from unrostered staff when even a small thing goes wrong. The flights most at risk are domestic and Dublin, since realistically this limits the damage to BA and to some extent their customers. Long haul faces delays, but it essentially runs. Boxing Day? Usually a quiet day.
Well, I booked BA1417/BA157 BHD/LHR/KWI for 26th Dec and it's all now gone red, so the Qsuites would have been a better choice. What happens now? If one or both sectors cancel, will BA rebook me (presumably on EI and/or QR depending on which sector has cancelled)? Typically how long in advance does red convert to an actual cancellation or revert to flights that will operate? If I call BA now, can I ask to be rebooked onto QR or do I have to wait for the actual cancellation?
