Similarly, I don't recall Air Jamaica ever serving PHX, or Mexicana ever serving SLU, but I can’t think of any other A320 operator candidates that would have offered connections in non-U.S. gateways … trying JM over Montego Bay/MBJ

That's the one. As you might imagine, I was shocked to see JM in the schedule on the MBJ-PHX route but of course knew right away it'd make a great question. If I hadn't mentioned the connection being outside the US, who knows how long this question would have gone on......
