Vault, yeah, but it’s subtle. It everywhere in Dubai. Even in the fanciest DIFC bars and restaurants. All that changes is what proportion, and how brazen people get (higher end places won’t allow certain things).

As for being assessed, I think many men travelling alone will get asked that. I was asked that at the One & Only Palm. My wife had checked in a day ahead of me and thought it funny.
