On Friday, I submitted a request to combine my wife's and my points to stave of expiration. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this idea, and they may be even more swamped. I'm a bit worried it won't complete by 12/31 and the points will expire first. I'll call next week if it hasn't occurred yet.
I did one earlier this month and it took 9 business days. It got rejected the first time after 6 business days because the email address on the form didn't match the one on the account. So you should be fine assuming everything matches up, but hard to say 100%.
