The issue of old bookings keeping the old status - and used to be that it also printed on your BP (remember paper BPs? ) - is a known one and goes back years. It used to be that it worked the other way too - book while Plat, travel having downgraded to Gold but Plat still appeared. This was because your status was captured at booking and never reviewed by the system unless removed/re-added. Sometimes this "review" would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Even less so on Partners - I once had EK remove/re-enter my FF details probably half-a-dozen times because I'd earned up to Plat and wanted to access the F Lounge at DXB however the booking stuck with my Gold status ...

The issue with new bookings is interesting and not something I've seen nor heard about before ... this is not new bookings using an old PNR as a travel credit?
