I’ve noticed that it’s especially bad in the regular lines around the major holidays (duh), but I think it’s more than the higher passenger volumes. This is when those who travel the least often head to the airport. They are the most likely to slow the regular line way down by getting something wrong with carry-ons at security.
By no means am I dismissive of these anti-FlyerTalkers. I am delighted to see them have the opportunity to fly to see family and friends around the holidays, and at affordable fares.
Still…it’s a helluva time to have Precheck access.
