My bad for assuming past experiences and policies carry forward after COVID. We are into our fourth of seven week stay and have experienced extra add ons and charges which I assume are an effort to mitigate damage done to tourist industry by COVID. I do not begrudge these charges but when possible I would prefer not to be blindsided. I shall increase my situational awareness.👁
If thats how it went down and Im not saying it wasnt, then even if the Hotel has a CYA policy by having it posted on the rate board, they should have IMO told you, you have been given your only exception and not have charged you , especially if you told them you ate there over the years many times and it was always free
On the other foot is Ive been buying Basic fare tkts on ABC and I didnt notice that they changed their policy to No free carry-on bag for those on Basic, yea they put a pop-up but never read them, I doubt theyd give me the wavier even 1 time and not charge me and even if they did Id have to pay for it on my Inbound. and yes there is a difference between an airline and hotel.
