And the kitchen couldn't cook a steak medium rare - first effort was literally raw, then they just threw it back in until it was gray. There was no effort at service recovery of any kind.
The Athenee has a fantastic pool, otherwise I don't think there's anything particularly great about it.
I'd be inclined to stay somewhere other than SGS next trip, I was so disappointed with their service and service recovery last trip, but my gf loves the location and the theme suites' outdoor spaces.
Sooo sad to hear about all the service failures - guess Richard was more important than we even knew

One of my favorite memories was calling about a burnt out light bulb on the desk lamp. When I returned to the room not only was if fixed but there was a note from engineering and A CHOCOLATE WRENCH to say it had been fixed!
