Unfortunately at 80k miles Economy to BKK or SIN, then I'm looking at a spend of 320k for two of us in Club or 480k in First, which although I'm happy to burn miles seems a bit excessive for a short break... also, because there are no changes/no refunds on partner awards, the whole 320k/480k would be at risk, whereas by going BA to NYC then AA down to MIA, at least the BA part is refundable (and uses up one of our Amex 2-for-1s)

Keen to explore Asia some more, but I think it requires a bit more planning than I feel capable of right now...
