"Cancellable" and "refundable" are two different things. A non-refundable ticket is still cancellable, and if it is main cabin, there is no penalty for cancelling or to rebook it to something else.
Since there is currently no change penalty for main cabin tickets, an unflown ticket functions the same as an eCredit, so there is really no need to cancel the ticket either (unless the flight date is coming up soon)
